Job Summary:
Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing, supervising and coordinating the management of specific Transmission, Distribution, Substation and Renewable projects; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public; and, provide staff assistance as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
Assists operations management with day-to-day operational aspects of a project.
Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client or management personnel.
Effectively applies project management methods and enforces project standards.
Develops and executes risk management plans thereby minimizing company exposure and risk on projects.
Ensures project documents are accurate, complete, current, and stored appropriately.
Develop a Project Execution Plan to include Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
Consult on program-based real estate and ROW acquisitions.
Project Accounting
Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
Manages Project budget.
Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
Position Requirements
4-year degree or equivalent industry experience. Engineering or Construction Management degrees are desired.
Understands and utilizes scheduling software; knowledge of Primavera products is desirable.
5 years plus Project Management Experience in T&D construction.
Knowledge or experience in electric utility construction is desired.
Formal project management training including PMP certification is a plus.
Effective communication skills.
Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
