PRIMARY ROLE:

The Financial Analyst will be an integral part of the Finance team and will be responsible for validating, quantifying, and proving project financial models, ensuring we continue to identify and develop competitive projects.

 

LOCATION

Remote working is acceptable for this role. This position may require periodic trips to Richmond, VA or the Oakland, CA office for team meetings or site visits to support engineering and development activities.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and optimize financial models for new Renewable technologies and markets

  • Conduct quantitative feasibility analysis on new markets, participants, projects and trends

  • Conduct risk forecast analysis on existing portfolio and new assets / markets

  • Run corporate financial models, monitor markets, and produce Monthly / Quarterly Reports for existing investment portfolios

  • Collaborate with Financial Analysts on building new Investment Business Cases

  • Support senior team in due diligence, deal execution and investment documentation

 

REQUIREMENTS

This role requires an in-depth understanding of, and experience in Power Markets; structure, participants, support mechanisms, pricing dynamics, power trading Power Price Forecasting & Modelling; consultants, forecasts, factors, financial modeling.

Renewables Development Financing; technologies, participants, influencers, revenue streams, financing structures, financing participants. A suitable candidate must have the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field

  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills

  • Excellent financial analysis and knowledge of excel

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Be capable of analyzing very large amounts of financial and numerical data and extracting, summarizing, and communicating key results

  • Work pro-actively individually, and collaboratively within the team

  • Be highly organized, follow procedures and meet timelines

  • Preference for 2-3 years relevant experience

  • Preference for experience at a utility, fund, or investment bank
