MAIN ACOUNTABILITIES
- Technical reviews of designs, including review of floater engineering documents (such as drawings, reports, data sheets, specifications and other technical documents) from floater designer and/or fabrication contractors. Support the project teams in discussions with design collaborators, product vendors, internal project teams, and other parties during conceptualization, design, commercialization and fabrication stages.
- Manage design and development activities pursuant to project’s defined requirements.
- Support commercial activities, including developing procurement documentation, responding to suppliers questions and processing of RFI / RFP response information, developing evaluation tools for comparing technical proposals, and creating, producing and presenting results from procurement activities.
- Drive cost reduction measures to ensure competitiveness; actively look for alternatives to reduce offshore costs.
- Support permitting teams with technical input for applicable permitting and community outreach
- Participate or be accountable for development and management of risk management plans as part of an overall project risk management strategy.
- Ensure that any applicable HSE requirements are being met.
- Share among team, and apply latest knowledge on new techniques, technologies and solutions developed by the substructure and floating substructure supply chain.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
- You’ll have 3+ years of offshore engineering experience, preferably within offshore wind, or oil & gas industry.
- Experience related to design, fabrication and/or construction of oceanic substructures, and to performing technical due diligences and assessing technology maturity.
- Experience from substructure designer, manufacturer and/or project developer side is an advantage
- Internationally recognized advanced degree in engineering with applicability to job described above and main accountabilities. Offshore Wind related subjects will be a plus.
- Other Master disciplines may be considered when back-up by extensive professional experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Procore, Bluebeam and Smartsheets. General working knowledge of MS Project/Primavera desirable.
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise preferred
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a relevant area of structural, mechanical, marine engineering, offshore engineering or related area of design and analysis.
- Ability to quickly understand and implement new areas of technical knowledge.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to write clear and concise technical reports (e.g. Basis of Design, Technical Decision Notes).
- Good knowledge of applicable industry standards and QA/QC best practices
- Some experience with 2D/3D modelling tools
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams
- Enthusiasm for the development of offshore renewable energy projects
