The Land Manager will be responsible for all the land related development works for the utility scale solar project development in the western part of the U.S. (mainly in California, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah) and Texas, including site screening, identification of suitable sites, land acquisition, contract negotiation with the landowners, easement and title curation, etc.

Essential Job Functions
Perform site screening based on the grid capacity and site constraints
Identify and evaluate suitable sites for utility scale solar projects
Identify the landowner contact information and contact the landowners
Lead structuring and negotiation of commercial transactions (Option to Lease, Option to Purchase, Easement Agreement, Crossing Agreement) with landowners and any other right holders
Lead title curation efforts (mineral right waiver, subordination agreement, affidavits, etc) in consultation with internal / external legal counsels and title companies and coordinate efforts among the key project stakeholders
Select, manage, and direct third party land agents, consultants and other development partners
Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of solar and renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers
Carry out other duties as assigned
Requirements
General understanding of land lease/purchase agreement and negotiation skills
General understanding of title reports and legal documents such as Easement Agreement, Mineral Right Waiver Contract, Subordination Agreement, etc
Skilled in project management with the ability to identify and resolve potential project flaws and to prioritize critical path tasks
General understanding of renewable energy market trends and the resulting impacts on solar project development
Self-motivated and able to work effectively individually as well as with a team
Ability to thrive in quickly changing environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Excellent problem-solving ability and ability to think on their feet
Excellent communication, project planning and execution, time management, and problem solving skills required.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
Education/Experience
Minimum of 3 years of land acquisition and project development experiences preferably in solar, renewable energy, or real estate development sector
Bachelor's Degree with strong academic record from a leading undergraduate program, in engineering, business administration, and economics preferred
