Job Summary:
Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing, supervising and coordinating the management of specific Transmission, Distribution, Substation and Renewable projects; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies, and the general public; and, provide staff assistance as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
• Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities.
• Assists operations management with day-to-day operational aspects of a project.
• Reviews deliverables prepared by team before passing to client or management personnel.
• Effectively applies project management methods and enforces project standards.
• Develops and executes risk management plans thereby minimizing company exposure and risk on projects.
• Ensures project documents are accurate, complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Develop a Project Execution Plan to include Engineering, Procurement and Construction.
• Consult on program-based real estate and ROW acquisitions.
Project Accounting
• Tracks and reports team hours and expenses on a weekly basis.
• Manages Project budget.
• Determines appropriate revenue recognition, ensures timely and accurate invoicing, and monitors receivables for project.
• Follows up with clients, when necessary, regarding unpaid invoices.
• Analyzes project profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates and utilization.
Position Requirements
• 4-year degree or equivalent industry experience. Engineering or Construction Management degrees are desired.
• Understands and utilizes scheduling software; knowledge of Primavera products is desirable.
• 5 years plus Project Management Experience in T&D construction.
• Knowledge or experience in electric utility construction is desired.
• Formal project management training including PMP certification is a plus.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understands basic revenue models, P/L, and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly.
