Field based Project Manager
RO Energy is working with a leading US Owners Utility Scale Solar & Energy Storage Developer who are looking for a Field based Project Manager to lead across various projects.
You will be working with a company who is developing new wind, solar and energy storage projects in energy markets across the US with several years of project pipeline already outlined and multiple projects under construction.
The Project Manager will lead a team of inspectors and ensure that safety, quality, and contract milestones are achieved by BOP contractor and Turbine Supplier. This role will be field based with extensive travel required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities for Field Based Project Manager
Our client seeks an innovative and motivated individual that will have responsibilities during the construction process. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lead a team of contract inspectors and specialists to ensure project is built in accordance with contract, plans and specifications, and scope of work documents.
Identify, deploy, and manage a high-performing team needed to monitor onsite construction and commissioning work for owner renewable energy projects.
Act as the Owner’s Representative for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract Management on distributed generation and utility PV solar and energy storage projects in the US.
Review and manage EPC Contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, and permit compliance.
Assist with the development of internal operating policies, standards and procedures.
Qualifications for Field Based Project Manager role
Strong understanding of construction safety requirements. OSHA 30-Hour qualification preferred.
Understanding of and experience managing construction QA/QC programs.
A minimum of 6 years’ wind farm or solar farm construction project experience to include knowledge of; civil construction, electrical construction, and turbine erection techniques.
Understanding of and experience managing renewable energy project BOP contracts and turbine supplier agreements.
Extensive project management skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Flexibility to work at locations across North America for up to ~85% of year
