What your Role is:

As our Safety Educator, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the lives of our teams and communities while setting new benchmarks for excellence. Here's what you'll be doing:

  • Lead the implementation, enforcement, and enhancement of our safety policies and processes.

  • Be the embodiment of safe practices on our jobsites, ensuring a visible and impactful presence.

  • Craft and review Safety Plans, Accident Prevention Plans, and Job Hazard Analyses.

  • Champion and coordinate drug screening requirements for our ambitious construction projects.

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver targeted safety training for our dedicated field employees.

  • Spearhead the acquisition, distribution, and proper utilization of safety equipment (PPE) for our field crews.

  • Innovate and implement safety forms and policies for our field teams' use.

  • Maintain regular distribution of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to our field heroes.

  • Collaborate in accident investigations and reporting, lending your expertise when needed.

  • Foster open communication and daily interaction with our field teams, always exuding professionalism and respect.

  • Cultivate relationships with our clients, emphasizing outstanding customer service.

  • Engage in thorough site safety inspections and coordinate corrective actions with all involved contractors.

  • Monitor, analyze, and share insights on trends, issues, and opportunities to reduce losses and incident costs.

  • Participate in critical pre-construction and contractor status meetings.

What skills you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related construction field.

  • A minimum of 10 years' hands-on experience in heavy civil construction projects.

  • Willingness to travel and relocate to keep pace with our dynamic projects.

  • A sharp ability to comprehend and interpret written material, including intricate technical information and regulations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and outstanding communication skills.

  • Physical capability to wear PPE, withstand physical demands of the role, and navigate challenging spaces.

  • A solid grasp of federal requirements for the construction industry, including OSHA regulations.

  • Completion of 10-hour OSHA training, with preference for additional safety-related credentials.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with OSHA 1926 Construction Industry Regulations, with completion of 30-hour OSHA training preferred (training provided on the job).
