General Description

Working within the Marine Systems Engineering Group this position’s main responsibilities include performing systems level engineering and design as well as interfacing with project managers, clients, turbine suppliers, and fabricators. The chosen candidate will work alongside a team of inter-disciplinary engineers and modelers / drafters and will be expected to provide technical and project leadership within their scope of responsibility. Work will focus on structural layouts and arrangements, piping design, instrumentation integration, and safety systems engineering including requirements management and risk management. Work may be at any stage of the project lifecycle, from conceptual design through fabrication support.

Successful candidates tend to have significant offshore or marine engineering experience as well as multi-disciplinary or field experience.

The client currently operates a hybrid work scheduled with 3 days per week to be spent in one of the clients offices.

Main Accountabilities

1. Gathering, interpreting, and managing technical requirements.

2. Writing of high-level project documents related to such topics as safety, material handling, corrosion, and access.

3. Design and optimization of platform layouts.

4. Specification of platform systems including those related to safety, material handling equipment and corrosion protection.

5. Writing of equipment specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations.

6. Risk management activities including management of risk registers.

7. Preparing various fabrication deliverables such as MTO’s, technical queries, etc

8. Detail review of fabrication drawings and specifications.

9. Writing and management of operations and maintenance manuals.

10. Interfacing with engineers from other company disciplines (Structural, Global Performance, Mooring, Fabrication and Installation) to ensure project requirements are met.

11. Developing, maintaining and delivering work products to project schedules for assigned work scopes.

12. Organization of multidisciplinary work packages between drafting and analysis groups.

13. Providing mentorship and guidance to other team members.

Education Required

Bachelors of Science, or equivalent degree in mechanical engineering, structural engineering, naval architecture, ocean engineering or equivalent. Master of Science would be an advantage.

Required Professional Experience

• 5+ years of experience Requirements

• Experience working in a project environment and managing requirements.

• Understanding manufacturing constraints.

• Knowledge of the offshore wind, offshore oil & gas, or maritime industry preferred.

• Proficient with Microsoft tools, namely Word and Excel.

• English proficiency is mandatory; both written and spoken.

• Experience working in a multi-cultural and multi-time zone environment would be beneficial.

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Autonomous, systematic, and detail oriented.

• Meticulous and persistent.

• Self-motivated.

• Team player and ability to work well with international interfaces.
