Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager for their Owners’ Engineering Department, which is experiencing rapid growth in a strong market. The position will report to the the Director of Engineering. This position is 100% client facing, requiring in-depth communication between Owner, EPC Contractor, and respective (C/E/S) trade engineers. This position will require some level of short-duration travel. The ideal candidate will be comfortable acting as the client’s eyes and ears throughout the design, construction, and close-out process, and will possess strong inter-personal and communication skills.
The Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Perform initial site diligence reviews, including site terrain, interconnection, constructability, and environmental/ecological constraints.
Perform in depth reviews of design packages for optimization opportunities and conformance with the NEC Code, customer standards, and standard workmanship practices.
Review associated project documents to determine the scope of the build considering local environmental conditions, AHJ requirements, Code Requirements, and the specifications of the EPC Contract.
Requirements:
Excellent understanding of solar electrical design and/or construction. Substation design and/or construction experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and technical as well as problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to perform under high pressure and dynamic work environment managing multiple project deliverables.
Proven experience in solar projects, either in engineering, construction and/or development. Storage experience is a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management. Other engineering disciplines will be considered as well.
5-7 years of overall experience in one or more of the following fields:
Solar PV design, including residential, commercial, or utility scale.
Power utility system design.
Solar PV field construction.
Mechanical or Electrical Trades.
