Summary of Role

The Construction Manager leads the project teams and works in partnership with our Superintendents to oversee the build of safe, high quality, profitable projects while beating the estimated budgets and improving the total Operating Profit margin over the original bid as well as fostering great client relations and developing employees internally.

This position is responsible for safe work plans, client negotiations, risk management, cost estimation, contract management, and execution strategy. 

 

The South Renewable Construction Team is seeking a Construction Manager to join their team.

  • Provide daily administrative and technical management of renewable construction projects delivering energy savings for public, institutional, industrial, government, and commercial customers;

  • Management, over-site, and co-development of the project schedule;

  • Direct interface with Our client customers managing customer service, relationships, etc;

  • Assist Engineering Team in project development as required including construction drawing review and constructability reviews;

  • Directly manage vendors, subcontractors, and site superintendents to ensure quality control and project delivery on schedule while meeting or exceeding customer expectations;

  • Update schedules to reflect current information, monitor critical path activities, and track outstanding items;

  • Work closely with Engineering and O&M Services teams to satisfy all requirements for commercial operation and financial close;

  • Provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration as required;

  • Assist the Senior Project Manager with project expenditures and job cost accounting processes: including accuracy, documentation, approvals, payment reporting, and tracking;

  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, trade, and jurisdictional safety standards, practices, codes;

  • Foster positive and effective business relationships at all levels and project phases; and perform other duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years electrical, mechanical, engineering, or industrial power construction management work experience focusing on complex facility infrastructure construction, renovations, retrofits, upgrades, building controls and renewable technologies.

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated work experience with Commercial scale Solar and Storage power plants

  • Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, mechanical and electrical systems development, engineering, and construction management regulations, practices, and codes.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.

  • Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication, and presentation skills.

  • Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.

  • Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state.

  • May be required to pass security clearance investigation.

  • May require on-call response and travel.
