We have multiple engineering consultancies in Jacksonville, FL looking for junior traffic engineers to join their thriving transportation departments. These firms range from successful small local companies to regional leaders who are all looking to bring on a traffic engineer with a few years of experience to help complete their expansive backlog of traffic projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of engineering reports, studies and analyses in a wide range of areas including: traffic operations, safety, traffic/ITS design, travel demand modeling and transportation planning projects
• Utilize basic knowledge and experience with conducting and documenting traffic studies using nationally accepted modeling practice
• Conduct traffic operational analysis using microscopic simulation software such as VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic

Job Qualifications:

• Civil engineering degree or equivalent transportation degree
• 3– 5 years experience in traffic engineering
• EI required
• FDOT district 2 experience ideal
• Experience with Synchro, CORSIM, Vissim, Microstation, HCS
• Basic understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals, and procedures
• Basic knowledge of ArcGIS including the ability to map and query data
