The role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, a comprehensive understanding of transmission line technologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Transmission Line Design: Develop detailed engineering designs for new transmission lines and upgrades, taking into account factors such as load capacity, voltage levels, conductor selection, tower types, and environmental considerations.

2. Structural Analysis: Perform structural analysis and modeling of transmission line components, ensuring compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations to maintain structural integrity.

3. Electrical Analysis: Conduct power flow, short circuit, and voltage drop analyses to ensure the reliable and efficient transfer of electrical power while optimizing the transmission system performance.

4. Material and Equipment Specification: Select appropriate materials and equipment for transmission line construction, considering factors such as environmental conditions, load requirements, and cost-effectiveness.

5. Project Management: Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to oversee transmission line projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

6. Environmental Impact Assessment: Evaluate the environmental impact of transmission line projects and propose mitigation measures to minimize the ecological footprint.

7. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant regulations and industry standards related to transmission line design and construction, ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

8. Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and support to field teams during construction and maintenance activities, troubleshooting any design-related challenges.

9. Innovation and Research: Stay abreast of advancements in transmission line technology and participate in research and development activities to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the company.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.

• Proven experience in transmission line design, analysis, and construction, preferably within the power utility industry or engineering consulting firms.

• Proficiency in engineering software and tools used for transmission line analysis and design (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, CYME, ETAP).

• Strong understanding of electrical and structural engineering principles, as well as knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

• Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Problem-solving mindset and ability to think critically to address complex engineering challenges.

• A commitment to safety and environmental sustainability in all aspects of transmission line engineering.
