A top international engineering firm are expanding their presence in the Florida transportation market by looking for someone to build and lead a team of transportation engineers in South Florida. The position is open across multiple disciplines – experience in traffic, roadway or transportation planning is required.

This position offers a leadership role at an Engineer News-Record (ENR) Top 10 rated firm. This individual would assist other senior staff in collaborating with various transportation agencies in South Florida. The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to build and lead a team, is professionally respected, an excellent communicator, and possesses a vast understanding of transportation engineering principles

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering projects, staff, and business development activities in the transportation industry

• Serve as client contact for greater Florida clients in transport projects

• Participate in strategic planning efforts to expand the transportation engineering & planning practice and organize and lead team members in the execution of the strategic plan

• Provide leadership in the successful delivery of transportation planning projects, including schedule, quality and within budget performance

• Lead and support staff through staff development, mentoring coaching, performance evaluations, and recruitment.

Job Qualifications:

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or planning

• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license or AICP

• Minimum of 15 years of experience within the transportation industry

• Staff/group management experience

• Project management experience such as scope development, scheduling, client management, and invoicing

• Proposal development and business development experience

• Experience with FDOT District 4 and District 6 (required) and Miami-Dade County (preferred)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with MicroStation and GeoPak
